I’ve really fallen in love with this album. In particular the song Ram On combined with the colors you’ll
see in the video posted below is why I love, Love.

Nashville Adventures
It’s safe to say keeping a regular active blog is a task that will daunt me until the day I die
but it’s most likely my thoughts will be auto journal-ed without my efforts or my knowledge.
Well let’s get started. Crazy last few months as I’ve been in transition to making my move within Nashville.
How unbelievable that just over a year ago I was packing up and moving purely out of love and some
idea of who I was. Now established in Nashville with the friends I’ve made, the job I carry, a passion
for the cafe, the coffee we serve and the people within that vertical form.
Also I went to California in April for the Specialty Coffee Association of America’s year event and
to watch the United States Barista Championship. Although my photos are limited California was beautiful
I traveled to Venice Beach, L.A, Anaheim, and Hollywood. Stopping by to see friends Katie Gilliad and Stephen Dorman
they were courteous enough to show me around town and share their worlds with me.
Also this happend at Intelligentsia’s party at their roasting works in L.A
Gwilym Davies 2009 World Barista Champion
I need a better camera. I think i’d be more inclined to blog if I was really proud of the quality of my photos.

Nashville Thursday Night Throwdown

Friends, family and coffee folk alike Nashville Coffee Society presents
Thursday Night Throwdown: 3
Bringing together Nashville’s coffee scene and friends for an evening
of celebrating the art of coffee and fine espresso.
Latte art is essentially the trademark of the barista, a spin of individuality in the cup beyond the intricacy and care put into each drink.
We celebrate the challenge of each variable coffee posses,
so that a great tasting latte deserves beauty beyond it’s smooth sweetness.
Beautiful coffee for the general public, a life’s worth of adventure for your barista.

Is it so wrong…
That this grinder gets me more excited than any female has in the last 8 months?
Busy week.
Shane and a friend are coming tomorrow night. I’m really excited.
He’s a good friend. There was a time where Shane undoubtedly my closest friend.
He’s a good man.

Here are a few of the photos you’ll find the rest on my Flickr.

Logan Where Have You Been All Week?
I’ve been working everyday up to the hour I left for
the SERBC
I’m finding a lot of purpose and excitement in coffee
(and no the excitement isn’t from the caffeine).
For me coffee is so fascinating it’s a science, it’s big business,
it’s ethics, it’s relationships, it’s a culinary wonder, it involves millions of people.
Coffee is the lifeblood of so many countries around the world and without it many
would live in far more poverty.
I’d like to share a few photos from my trip with a brief explanation of each.

Everyone gathers as the Thursday Night Throwdown begins.

Later in the day I headed on over to Counter Cultures training facility
to try out some new single origin espressos and try out a vacuum pot.

Signature drinks push the seemingly endless edge of creativity and culinary arts.
Octane Coffee’s own Jacklyn from Atlanta does just that as she uses a centrifuge
to extract the juice from a sweet potato to mix into her signature drink.
Pretty incredible. I’ll post a video as soon as it becomes available.
Spending time at the roasting company this week hopefully.
I want to know Bongo’s coffee better than own self.
I feel it’s only right and holds me accountable for the quality on the
barista end of Bongo Java Roasting Company.
Super excited to try out my Stumptown Hairbender espresso
and a couple unreleased single origin espressos from Counter Culture.
