I Just Want Four Walls And Adobe Slats For My Girls

But really, the thought of housing is on my mind a lot recently.
For my entire life if there’s been a continuing behavioral pattern it’s in how I treat the objects in my life. I find, assess, and then make it fit my needs, making it my own. I’ve a feeling this will continue on throughout my life including the process of home ownership. I’m fascinated by the significance, worship, and appreciation of architectural design in our culture. In history shelter has been such a constant and staple of society since creation and that inate appreciation dwells within me as well.

Now I’m not thinking about next year, but possibly in spring 2011 I’m playing with the idea of breathing new life into an old house here in Nashville. I’ve found so many beautiful 70’s and 80’s bungalow houses that appear structurally sound but need a lift. I’ll be learning in the coming months about weighing the pros and cons of buy to remodel and what factors to weigh in beyond the surface deep appearnce of the house. I’m in a position now where Fido will pay the bills and then some and as I’m in transition I’ll be keeping all of this on the back burner of my mind as it always has been. From building forts when I was four to my 3rd grade aspirations of building a mock up Playboy mansion in the backyard with the luxuries of a pool and fireplace had such elaborate plans too. I spent hours drawing, thinking, and planning all on the squared paper my dad used to dream big, be it his photo studios or our own home.

Option #2

Prefabricated small modern homes have fascinated me since I first saw one on NPR.org four years ago. I think It’s the price and the style that draw my attention so deep. I’d love to tour a few of them before ever considering to buy but with a price tag of $24,000. That’s cheap. Now with land, furnishing, construction it’ll peak out around 100,000 but for building a house and furnishing. That’s a really decent estimate but of course all that can change. As much as I can see myself buying and renivating my own home, I can see myself in one of these.

That’s a little of my life right now.
Busy, filled with adventure and excitement.

My current life

Now. The although the past few girls I’ve dated have jokingly been called cougars. This by far surpasses all of that. Even though it was tempting to go along with this for the sake of a great story to tell. The thought that it could of happened will do. Creepy Nashville Cougars are on the prowl, young men beware.

On another note, I’m in love with vintage J Crew right now. Looking to use Christmas gift cards to help get my new clothes for work.

Famous

Really enjoyed opening here at Fido this morning.
It’s going to be great working here, I know it.
I will make a lot of money. My friends work here.
Thousands of new people to meet.
Next step into coffee experience as I’ll make more drinks
than ever in my life in a matter of a month.

As ridiculous as it may sound, I’m all about Norah Jones’ new album ‘The Fall’.
It’s phenomenal. I’ve enjoyed her cover of ‘Jesus Etc..’ by Wilco by far the most though. It’s really great. I gifted it to a friend for Christmas and in turn had to end up buying it for myself. What!? You actually bought a CD? Yeah I did and I love it.
Here’s one of the many great songs. Give it a listen.
Norah Jones – Chasing Pirates

Sleep soon. I’m exhausted.

Fido

Up way later than what I should be considering I have to work in 4 1/2 hours.
I’m just really excited about starting work in the morning.
This is my new work uniform for Fido, which I’m excited to have because it’s nice to always know what you’ll be wearing.

For a Better Tommorrow Let’s Start With Today, With All The Things We Do And All The Things We Say!!

It’s unfortunate and fortunate that Nashville is as far away from Indiana as it is however when I wish it was closer I’m normally wishing I could more easily share the great discoveries and adventures I’m embarking on. Hands down one of my most favorite places in town is this little coffee shop called Crema. Named after the beautiful brown substance which lays on top of freshly pulled espresso shots. It’s name is fitting as this shop is beautiful. Everything about it is more or less what you would describe aloud if asked what makes the perfect shop.
Although I’m unable to bring all of my friends from Indiana to share this with, you can have a little taste of it from their website and learn a little more about the staff by following them on Twitter.

Reading up on candy making. I think that’s one thing I’d like to give a try here in the next few weeks. This morning I’ve been reading about making homemade cough drops which sound like an extremely good gift idea for friends considering we are in the prime of the cold & flu season.

Give it a look a over and it might interest you as well!
I’ve really enjoyed keeping this updated daily.
It’s a blank audience. Not knowing who is reading if anyone, just writing what interests me to keep me writing and moving forward.
